We
here at Stori-Tails are dedicated to the health and well being of
the much loved Am. Cocker Spaniel. My Goal is to produce cockers that live
up to AKC standards as well as to support all that are striving to better
the breed as well as to place my pups in loving, caring, homes with people
that wish to make
them part of their families or to win hearts in the show ring.
My
name is Stori, yes that is my real name. I am a 45 yr old stay at home
mom and a substitute teacher at my twin boys school. I have also taught
2nd grade Sunday school for over 2 years
and bible school and children's church for over 22 years. My husbands name
is Dwayne and we have three children, Dane, he is 21 and I have twin boys
that are 11. We are very active in church, sports and school activities
but mostly we love just being home as a family and playing with our dogs.
We have a lovely home on ten acres and we just added an in ground swimming
pool for us and our labs to play in, the Labs love it--the cockers not
so much. I think they think it will mess up their hair!. WE also have a
beautiful nice big play
yard for the dogs that is fenced in that they get to go and play in on
a nice sunny day, but most of the
time they are in our living room laying beside us on the couch or under
our feet. They love the kitchen the most because that is where all the
goodies get handed out.
I
have had a cocker in my life for as long as I can remember. I just love
them. I have learned that you can never know all there is to know about
a cocker spaniel or any dog for that matter, it is always a learningprocess
and I have had some really wonderful people to guide me and help me to
learn all I can about cockers and
how to better the breed. I DO NOT NOR DO I INTEND TO EVER BREED OR OWN
MERLE'S. I strive to produce cockers that live up to the AKC
standard and it is a constant work in progress. I am a stickler for
producing awesome heads and nice full coats with good conformation.
Most of my cockers have champion pedigrees and are show quality. However,
we do not show our dogs, they are simply our joy and part of our family
and their only job with us is chasing tennis balls. I want to provide people
with beautiful puppies and dogs
that they can be proud to show off at home or in the show ring and a dog
that will enrich the lives of those
who choose to own one of my cockers.
Most
of the dogs are kept inside of our home and they are part of our family.
We have a huge fenced in yard with a beautiful covered kennel area where
the other's stay and play and often come in the house to play with us and
the house dogs as well. We provide the same quality of care to our dogs
that we would our children, meaning that they are groomed weekly, have
regular vet appointments to keep up with immunizations and they are fed
only the best food.
WE have happy and healthy gorgeous dogs and we are very proud to own them.
We have very few litters per year, but when we do, our mommas are fed foods
high in protein and calcium to ensure that she has plenty enough nutrition
for herself and to pass on to her babies, Each momma whelps and raises
her puppies right here in our living room. This way we are able to handle
them daily and make sure they are all doing well. My children and their
friends also play a big part in raising the puppies. They are always taking
one or two out and playing with them. This ensures that your puppy will
be very social and have a wonderful temperament. Handling the puppies gets
them use to the handling of a human. We start from day one handling our
pups often, and then we start early grooming them as well so that when
they come
to be part of your family they will be accustom to all kinds of different
situations.
